Lors d'une soirée, en apparence ordinaire, trois amis, Alexe, Étienne et Gabriel, se réunissent pour l'anniversaire de ce dernier. Entre eux, un pacte tacite existe; vivre sans filtre la vérité du moment. Ce rituel intime devient une danse fragile entre affection et tension. À mesure que la soirée avance, les non-dits éclatent, les émotions s’enflamment, et les frontières entre leurs besoins et limites s'effritent. Ce qui semblait être une célébration innocente se transforme en un voyage intérieur, révélant les failles et les frustrations enfouies. Entre vérité brutale et quête de connexion, leurs liens vacillent, donnant lieu à une fragile réconciliation.
English synopsis.
During what seems like an ordinary evening, three friends, Alexe, Étienne, and Gabriel, come together to celebrate Gabriel’s birthday. Between them lies a pact: to live the truth of the moment without filters. This intimate ritual becomes a fragile dance between affection and tension. As the evening unfolds, unspoken tensions surface, emotions ignite, and the boundaries between their needs and limits begin to blur. What starts as an innocent celebration transforms into an introspective journey, exposing hidden fractures and buried frustrations. Between raw honesty and the longing for connection, their bonds falter, leading to a fragile reconciliation.

Biographie :
Gabriel-Antoine Roy est un artiste multidisciplinaire naviguant entre le théâtre, la danse et le cinéma. Formé en interprétation à l'École nationale de théâtre du Canada et en post-production au Cégep de Jonquière, il aborde chaque film comme un geste de générosité envers le public. Pour lui, chaque projet est un pari audacieux mené aux côtés d’artistes qui l’inspirent profondément.
Parmi ses réalisations, on retrouve le court métrage Les oiseaux du paradis, présenté dans plus de dix festivals québécois et américain et récipiendaire d’une mention Coup de cœur du jury au Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois. Actuellement, Gabriel-Antoine est en post-production sur deux projets : l’adaptation cinématographique d’une scène de Sur le divan de François Ruel-Côté, une comédie de situation, et un faux-documentaire sur Mains moites, une expérience théâtrale signée Catherine Gaudet et Brigitte Haentjens.
Biography :
Gabriel-Antoine Roy is a multidisciplinary artist working across theater, dance, and cinema. Trained in acting at the National Theatre School of Canada and in post-production at Cégep de Jonquière, he approaches each film as an act of generosity towards the audience. For him, every project is a bold bet undertaken alongside artists who deeply inspire him.
Among his works is the short film Les oiseaux du paradis, presented at over ten festivals in Quebec and the U.S. and awarded a Jury’s Coup de cœur at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois. Currently, Gabriel-Antoine is in post-production on two projects: a film adaptation of a scene from Sur le divan by François Ruel-Côté, a situational comedy, and a mockumentary about Mains moites, a theatrical experience created by Catherine Gaudet and Brigitte Haentjens.

Billie-Jazz est une éco-éducatrice et mère d’une jeune fille de 4 ans qui trouve une joie immense à partager son engouement pour toute la magie qui œuvre secrètement au sein de la biosphère de la Terre. Les récentes découvertes en lien avec les enjeux qui menacent le fleuve Saint-Laurent, cours d’eau auquel elle attache un lien important, l'amènent à se questionner sur notre rapport avec lui. Elle quitte donc le Kamouraska où elle habite pour sillonner les rives du fleuve de la Minganie à Montréal à la rencontre de ceux qui posent des actions concrètes pour protéger notre plus grand joyau québécois. Que ce soit de nettoyer les eaux des microplastiques ou prendre une posture militante, la quête de Billie nous plonge dans l’urgence de sauver notre territoire marin.
English synopsis.
Billie-Jazz is an eco-educator and mother of a 4-year-old girl who finds immense joy in sharing her enthusiasm for all the magic that secretly works within the Earth's biosphere. Recent discoveries related to the issues threatening the St. Lawrence River, a waterway to which she attaches an important bond, lead her to question our relationship with it. She therefore leaves Kamouraska where she lives to drive along the riverbanks from the Mingan islands to Montreal to meet the people who are taking concrete action to protect our greatest quebec jewel. Whether it's cleaning the waters of microplastics or taking an activist stance, Billie's quest plunges us into the urgency of saving our marine territory.

Biographie :
David : Réalisateur documentaire de la relève évoluant à Québec, David poursuit à l’Université Laval ses études multidisciplinaires en cinéma, anthropologie et innovation sociale. Il se concentre par son art à transmettre le récit de ceux qui luttent pour la justice sociale. C’est de cette manière qu’il souhaite contribuer à faire évoluer la société.
Billie-Jazz : Éco-éducatrice, technicienne en agro-environnement et étudiante en science de l'environnement, elle trouve une joie immense à partager son engouement pour toute la magie qui œuvre secrètement au sein de la biosphère de la Terre.
Jérôme : Musicien ayant fait ses études en cinéma à l’Université de Montréal en 2007, il a commencé son parcours professionnel en cumulant plusieurs projets dans le domaine de l’audiovisuel allant de la télévision à l'événementiel jusqu’au cinéma de
court-métrages indépendants.
Biography :
David: Up-and-coming documentary filmmaker living in Quebec City, David is pursuing his multidisciplinary studies in cinema, anthropology and social innovation at Laval University. He focuses through his art on telling the story of those fighting for social justice. It is in this way that he wishes to contribute to a society change.
Billie-Jazz: Eco-educator, agro-environmental technician and environmental science student, she finds immense joy in sharing her enthusiasm for all the magic that secretly works within the Earth's biosphere.
Jérôme: Musician who studied cinema at the University of Montreal in 2007, he began his professional career by combining several projects in the audiovisual field ranging from television to events to independent short films.

Martin Rodolphe Villeneuve
Biographie :
Né à Rivière-du-Moulin, au Saguenay, Martin Rodolphe a fait des études en peinture au sein de plusieurs ateliers à Chicoutimi. En 1996, il délaisse peu à peu la peinture et s’inscrit en concentration cinéma et vidéo au programme interdisciplinaire en art à l’Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).
Au cours de sa carrière, il a suivi plusieurs formations à l’Office national du film (ONF). Il a aussi participé à de nombreux ateliers d’écriture pour le programme de Téléfilm Canada « Écrire au long », à l’Institut national de l’Image et du son (INIS).
Scénariste et documentariste de formation, il réalise plusieurs études et courts métrages (HAUT-FOND PRINCE, NOTRE-DAME-DES-MONTS, QU’EN CE JOUR JE MEURE, ÉLÉONORE, CHANTS DE L’AUBE, ET SI TU M’ENTENDS ainsi que quelques documentaires), avant de trouver son véritable créneau : le réalisme poétique.
LE SANG DE LA TERRE (De profundis), son premier long métrage, amorce ce parcours.
Biography :
Born in Rivière-du-Moulin, Saguenay, Martin Rodolphe studied painting in several workshops in Chicoutimi. In 1996, he gradually abandoned painting and enrolled in a film and video concentration in the interdisciplinary art program at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).
During his career, he took several training courses at the National Film Board (ONF). He has also participated in numerous writing workshops for the Telefilm Canada program “Écrire au long” at the Institut national de l’Image et du son (INIS).
A scriptwriter and documentary filmmaker by training, he directed several studies and short films (HAUT-FOND PRINCE, NOTRE-DAME-DES-MONTS, THAT ON THIS DAY I DIE, ÉLÉONORE, CHANTS DE L'AUBE, AND IF YOU HEAR ME only a few documentaries), before finding its true niche: the dreamlike drama.
THE BLOOD OF THE EARTH (De profundis), his first feature film, begins this journey.
